Need to Know

Watch your ankles! There are lots of roots and hidden rocks, especially in the tall grass.

Runner Notes

The trail is not too well marked (it has some blue blazes), but it's generally easy to follow. Just watch out for all the rocks and roots (and some cliffs!)

Description

From Lunt and Lunt pier, run south along Ocean View Rd until it bends sharply to the east at the head of the harbor. From there continue straight on a dirt road and hop on the trail when it leaves the road on the left.

The trail winds its way through short evergreen trees out toward the big beach; from there stay to the right and continue on to Deep Cove. Once there the trail is easy to follow as it curves northward along the shore towards the rocky isthmus connecting the main island to the eastern point.

From there continue along the trail through alternating patches of short evergreens and tall grasses. Once you hit the eastern beach, take the dirt road back into town onto Executive Dr and then left onto High Rd past the church and Historical Society building to complete the loop!

Note: The trails aren't named, but here is a link to the Islands own trail map just in case you get turned around!
