A relatively steep short run. The views from the top can't be beat, and the broken remains of the railroad buildings shouldn't be missed. The trail can be pretty eroded in some sections, so watch your footing.

Very rocky in some sections.

Start at the Mount Beacon pullout, next to the General Store. From the obvious trailhead, run uphill on the well-defined trail. Take the metal stairs alongside the broken-down railroad, and follow the red trail markers through the switchbacks to the south summit.

At the top of the trail are the remains of the old casino and hotel, and the remains of the Mount Beacon Incline Railway. Great views of the Hudson Valley.
