Water bars and continual grade reversals make this an interesting run.

Description

Rawhide starts off with smooth, wide doubletrack that rolls just a bit until you hit a campground and the intersection with Waterhole Trail. Turn left on singletrack and encounter some water bars. Contour around a hill on nice, fairly easy trail with great scenery.

You'll pass the other end of Waterhole, and continue on good singletrack until you start descending steeply to a creek bottom. Once at the creek bottom, there is a half mile of very steep trail with more large water bars.

Doing the trail the other way will get the steep sections over with faster, but it's not necessarily better in either direction.

A Culvert for the creek. It was heavily shaded so there was quite a bit of snow when most of the trail was dry.
