This trail has a packed dirt surface, and a couple of short off camber or eroded sections.

This popular trail is a little tricky to find the first time- head south from the Eagles Nest gondola area towards ski signs for Game Creek. Shortly, at a junction of many service roads coming from the Eagles Nest Ridge, find the Grand Traverse bike trail signs. Pass Grand Traverse and keep heading up the service road/ridge for another 20 yards until reaching the trail marker for the Ridge Route.

Ridge Route initially parallels the Grand Traverse trail but gradually veers away, crossing ski runs, wildflower meadows and shady groves. The trail surface is generally packed dirt and wide, although a couple of short sections of off-camber or eroded trail do exist. The trail intersects with Ptarmigan Loop near the top but officially ends at the summit of Game Creek bowl with your choice of either switchbacking to the top of the Wildwood ski lift or bushwhacking a few feet up to the Game Creek ski lift.
