Check conditions! Creek crossing to camp 53. Pic looks innocent but that small jet through the middle was nothing to mess with in waist deep water. Spent the night next to the creek and had to hike back up to Cling Rd for a shuttle to Deep Creek ($140) :)

Lonesome Pine Overlook - quick short side trail from Noland Divide. Looking towards Bryson City. This would be a good day hike if staying in BC.

First real crossing. Just wanted to give an idea of what to prepare for. I'm 5'10" and it was right at knee deep. Keep your crocs on for the maybe the next mile. Several rock hops and one more knee deep ford.
