This loop is perfect for a quick escape or an easy run. There are plenty of benches next to the trail for resting and enjoying the views of the lake. Numerous picnic tables are available in the picnic area making this a perfect place for spending the afternoon or having a picnic. Jetton Park gets quite busy in the afternoons, especially on the weekends, so try going for a morning run if you're looking for a quieter run.

There is a beach, but while running along the shoreline and on the beach is allowed, swimming is not. Public restrooms are located on the southern part of the loop, next to the park office and the shelter.

Swimming in the lake is not allowed.

Park in any of the abundant roadside parking lots along Jetton Park Road. Take a connector trail from the road to the Jetton Park Loop, and begin running in either direction. The paved path is well-marked and easy to follow, sometimes closely paralleling the road, but mostly staying closer to Lake Norman's shore. Do the full loop for a quick run, or plan for a longer outing and stop at one of the assorted benches to take in a view of the lake, snag a table for a picnic, spend some time at the playground, or explore Jetton Gardens.

Dogs are allowed in the park, but they must be leashed. However, there is an off-leash dog park at nearby Ramsey Creek Park which is located just south of Jetton Park, also on the shores of Norman Lake and about a 5 minute drive away. If Jetton Park Loop isn't quite long enough, check out the Jetton Park Mountain Bike Trail, located north of Jetton Park proper, across Jetton Road. While this loop was built specifically for mountain bikers, it is a multi-use trail, but be prepared to encounter other trail users.

The pine forest and the lake shore make this a great place for bird spotting.
