The trailhead is across Arroyo Valle which has intermittent water in winter and spring

Description

The trail starts north of the Del Valle Family Campground, just across Arroyo Valle. The creek is typically dry, but may carry water after rain. The first quarter mile is fairly steep through California Oak, but as you get higher, views open up towards the Ohlone Regional Wilderness and the Arroyo Valle Canyon. The trail ends abruptly after 0.6 miles and turns into the singletrack Black Sage Trail.
