The part from Steinkjerringa to Synesvarden may be rocky and slippery at times.

The trip can be made in either direction. After the fence, you either go left or right—recommended to go right to enjoy an easier start by follwing the trail along the forest. You may encounter some domesticated cattle along the way. Once you get to the highest point, down towards Steinskjerringa, you can choose to bear right to get to the statue passing the small forest or bear left to continue the round trip.

Bearing left the track becomes singletrack/trail, rocky and may be slippery when wet. At about 5k before the last climb to Synesvarden, you'll drop down and need to cross a very muddy/wet part, especially following heavy rains, crossing a small stream. Getting past this the climb is fairly easy.

From Synesvarden, you bear left from where you came from, following the path crossing the fence and keep on the planked track along the foret to your right and just keep on the track, crossing a couple small streams on the way to the start, it's all down hills.

Open grazing area for sheep/cattle. Pretty wet and can be mosquitto infested on less windy days. When warmer, the flies may be annoying.
