This section continues through the sagebrush plains of the Bruneau Desert, passing near the Saylor Creek Air Force Range. Fighter jets frequent this airspace on training missions. The trail passes by the Bruneau Canyon Overlook, a scenic view of the 800-foot cliffs that wall in the Bruneau River. The overlook also has several interpretive signs that provide great information about the history, geology, and ecology of the area.
