There is no restroom support, no water resupply, anything. If you need it, bring it from the ship.

You could run it, but its so busy you spend a lot of time waiting for non-hikers to move.

If you are visiting the island on your own, then you'll be on your own to figure out how to get to the start. As part of the typical cruise itinerary, you get a ride from the port to the trailhead, and have a guide for the hike.

Of course the cruises list this as their "most extreme" difficulty level, but its a fairly intermediate route, decent footing, a little mud here and there, and no real exposure.

The local guides provided some good insights about the rainforest and various sights along the trail, and kept things moving. It was, of course, somewhat busy because the tours tend to arrive from multiple ships at the same time every day, and everyone has a narrow window of time to do the run.

I will say, that as someone who enjoys active sports/hobbies, this was the best of all the port stops on this cruise. I wouldn't compare this to a remote self-supported hike anywhere else, because it is very much a unique self-contained experience related to cruise tourism.

Nonetheless, if you happen to be browsing website or Trail Run Project mobile app wishing you had a run to do while you are on a cruise, this is a great option.
