Through April 2019, parts of the trail on the eastern edge are closed for stream restoration. If you access the trail from the marked trailhead at the library headquarters building, you can only do a 1.3 mile loop.

Need to Know

There are natural trail access points behind Annapolis High School, Anne Arundel County Health Department, the library headquarters, and Recreation and Parks headquarters.

The trail is well-blazed in most spots.

Runner Notes

Footing was slippery in the fall with the leaves covering the path. Roots are prevalent as the trail drops to the river/tidal marsh. There is some mud in places.

Description

The trail has several access points behind the public buildings, along with the trailhead located behind the library headquarters building. Runners will move east, slowly dropping in elevation, before a few switchbacks bring the runner to the river. The trail then moves east along the river, which is unfortunately littered with a few tires. The trail again moves up in elevation as the trail begins to turn north. Overall it's a quick and fairly easy mile-long loop.

Flora & Fauna

Deer and snakes can be found here.
