From the parking lot, follow the right-most trail, which will bring you into the woods. Follow the trail as it turns and parallels the bayou. Continuously turn back towards the water, as the trail often "daylights" back towards the parking area and open field. When you come to the old scout HQ building, follow the trail to the left of, and then head behind the building to continue on the trail. This will take you around through the woods before eventually bringing you out to a well-maintained path through the grass.
