Ciclabile della Valsassina

The Ciclabile Valsassina (Valsassina Bike Path) begins in Barzio and descends along the Torrente Pioverna (river) through the Valsassina valley to Taceno. The valley is hemmed in by the 2,000-2,500 m (6,500-8,200 ft) Bergamo pre-Alps on either side. Needless to say, it is quite a beautiful area.

The Torrente Pioverna features multiple cascades and a small waterfall. There is a much taller waterfall (Cascata della Troggia) not too far from the trail in Introbio.

The route is paved and mostly dedicated to bike traffic, so keep an eye out for traffic on two wheels.
