DuPont State Recreational Forest is a very popular multi-use, bi-directional trail system, so be on the lookout for horses and cyclists. It is normally open in any weather, although it can close during extended periods of freeze/thaw in the winter.

Description

Buckhorn Creek Road starts at the intersection with Buck Ridge Road and Rock Quarry Road. After 0.8 miles the trail intersects with Cannon Creek and then continues on for another 0.3 mile climb to the end of the trail. This trail, when used in conjunction with Cannon Creek and Rock Quarry Road or Buck Ridge Road, Micajah and Wilkie, offers access from Rich Mountain Road to the Corn Mill Shoals parking area.
