Description

This trail can be accessed from either the Nails Creek Trail or from the picnic area. The picnic area access is off of the picnic road near the northeastern corner. The trail is maintained by a mower, so it's fairly wide and flat the entire route, and very easy to follow.

A short distance from the picnic parking area, you'll cross a gas utility right-of-way and service road for the oil infrastructure that is scattered throughout this park. Then you'll come to an intersection where this trail loops back on itself. Follow the trail northwest to a small observation platform from which you can see the lake (note the platform has seen better days). The trail then heads southwest offering a few views of the boat launch before joining the Nails Creek Trail. It then loops back to itself to form a lollipop loop.
