Pian delle Noci translates as Plain of Nuts. The Pian delle Noci is a small clearing at the top of the route. A doubletrack runs up and down to the clearing.

The trail begins at the intersection of Campo dei Fiori Sentiero 10a and Sentiero Monte Morto. From this intersection, the descent on Campo dei Fiori Sentiero 10a into Orino is challenging and often filled with leaf litter and other debris; so this trail through Pian delle Noci offers a slightly easier alternative to reach Ornio. There is still a steep descent into Orino after Pian delle Noci, but it is not as difficult as the one on Campo dei Fiori Sentiero 10a.
