This is a great trail for a backcountry adventure isn't necessarily very challenging or have any huge climbs. There are a few short rocky sections and some sketchy sidehills, it is manageable by most.
For the most part, the trail follows the creek with the occasional short climb when the creek bottom narrows and the trails climbs up and over sidehill sub ridges. A fire burned through the area around 6 miles up and as expected trees are starting to fall so don't surprised if you find a few littered on the trail.
Overall this trail has a mellow vibe with the Blue Joint Creek meandering nearby and making pleasant creek burbles. A run up the meadows at 8 miles is a great way to decompress and enjoy some peace and solitude.
