Runner Notes
This trail is perfect for runners and hikers alike.
Description
The trail itself is a hidden gem that very few people know about. Along the trail, you'll find three natural waterfalls and an area with many prehistoric fossils, which is marked on the information board in the car park.
In the past, the area was used for mining so you'll come across a few abandoned mine shafts along the way, though they are all blocked for people's safety. The trail has steep gradients, but not enough to class it as a hard run.
The area is also popular for geocaching and there are a number of geocaches hidden along the way. I believe this trail should attract more hikers and trail runners because of it's historical background and the features it has to offer.
Flora & Fauna
The rivers are home to Brown Trout and cannis fly larva. The trail takes you through an area full of meadow horsetail plants, and you'll see numerous other plant species. The woodlands are home to foxes, squirrels, hares, and badgers.
