Open year-round; check road conditions before visiting. The Cooksie Creek vehicle access on the northern and southern section of the trail is open to the public from April 1 - November 1 of each year. The trail can be reached from the Mattole Beach trailhead year-round.

Description

Cooksie Creek Trail is a lightly used 11-mile trail (one-way) from Punta Gorda to Spanish Ridge on the northern Lost Coast. The northern access to Cooksie Creek Trail is from Windy Point Road and is only vehicle accessible from April 1 - November 1 each year. The southern access to the trail is from Telegraph Ridge Road, including 1.8 miles on the Spanish Ridge Trail, also only vehicle accessible from April 1 - November 1 each year. The Cooksie Creek Trail is not maintained and can be difficult to follow.
