This trail allows for a loop with the Harper Creek Trail by connecting to that trail on both ends. The loop is both fun and beautiful. It is part of the MST as well. Near the top it has a good view overlooking South Harper Creek Falls as well looking out to Grandfather Mountain. As the trail starts descending more steeply, the tread becomes more rocky and rooty and has some gullied out sections that keep your footwork working overtime, but near the end it mellows out a bit, and you can enjoy some pleasant running before hitting the creek crossing to get back to Harper Creek Trail.
