Description

This trail allows for several loop options to create a tour of Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve, but it is much hotter and less interesting than the trails in the valley floor, where most of the redwoods live. The forest up here is mostly douglas fir with small sections of open meadow.

While pleasant enough, and perhaps worth more stars somewhere else, when coming to the park, you're better off in the redwood groves below. The views from the end of the trail are quite nice!

Looking downhill towards Fife Creek after exiting the East Ridge Trail. Contrary to the map, this area is a series of steep switchbacks.
