From the Logan River Trail, the trail splits off to the southeast and immediately starts to climb gradually up and out of the small forest. The trail was cut into the hillside and is in great shape. In the fall, the scrub oak and other vegetation turn beautiful colors and make this into a beautiful trail.

The trail ascends through a few small drainages, and then around the front of a steep ridge, and at this point the climbing stops and the trail levels out and before long reaches the Bridger Lookoff, which is a simple clearing with great views in all directions. To the south is Mill Hollow, a large drainage that drains the avalanche chutes below Logan Peak. To the north is a tall set of cliffs across the canyon, and to the east and west flows the Logan River and Logan Canyon.
