A smooth surface with a wide tread. There is not much shade, and it can get windy.

This enjoyable multiuse trail at the top of the Wildridge neighborhood is a convenient path for residents but not a top destination run. On foot, it is pleasant to just wander the trails on this hilltop and take in the varied views as they present themselves, and bikers are only allowed on Our Backyard- the remainder of the trails marked in yellow on the trailhead map signs are for foot traffic only. It is worth using the Trail Run Project mobile app or studying the map at the parking area before setting out because there are no trail markings on the trails themselves.

While traveling the smooth Our Backyard Trail, you'll pass through a couple of small aspen groves, see good views of Beaver Creek and Arrowhead ski areas, and get a good sense of Avon valley and the surrounding hillsides. Bikes are allowed on the Our Backyard Trail, so keep an ear out for them.
