Runner Notes

As the trail passes the quarry and starts to ascend more steeply, the trail gets covered in loose rock which can be tricky in spots, especially on the way down.

Description

From the quarry, two waterfalls can be seen (one on either side of the canyon) which are fun little destinations in and of themselves, and can be used for filtering water at the beginning or end of this run.

From the quarry, there are several jeep roads that head east, it doesn't matter which one you take - they all converge pretty quickly into the main trail that leads up to the head of the canyon. The first mile or so of this trail is covered in steep, loose rock which can be hard to run on at times, but the tread improves as it gets higher up. The trail quickly leaves the rocky, barren nature of the quarry area and enters a forest of aspens and other beautiful trees. The trail breaks into several meadows as well, as it ascends, and finally once the climbing is over the trail enters a large meadow of sagebrush and grasses where you can often see cows grazing, or deer if you're lucky.

At the top of this trail, there are some great views of Millville Peak, some sections of Cache Valley, as well as Logan and Providence peaks and the wide surrounding meadows and forests.
