Description

From the trailhead, the Sheltowee Trace dives into the woods and follows a small stream as it meanders and gently climbs toward the ridge. Finally, the crest is gained and then the trail settles into a pattern of rollers across a narrow ridge heading for Morehead, the only town of any consequence along the Trace.

The trail dips down at the end of this section to cross KY 1024 before continuing on Sheltowee Trace NRT: Section 2 & 3.
