Runner Notes

Great to run the flats on the way up for a little extra workout if you are not training with a weighted pack.

Description

One of the most accessible training runs from the city, you may go up and back, or take the Tiger Mountain Trail or others down. This trail is characterized by primitive steep inclines with several "flats" in between.

Looking up the trail. You go up and up!

Lots of ferns adorn the trail under the tall tree canopy. You'll be nearly 100% in the shade.

The trail does have a few flatter sections where you can recover!

While the trail is marked as 'not well maintained' some sections do have stairs.

Muddy and rocky, seems more so than Chirico. Very steep - 1400 ft in the first mile. Came down West Tiger 3 Trail, then the Tiger Mountain Trail. — 1h 17m
