The trail can be slippery and muddy in the wetter seasons. The bridges are narrow - pay attention!

For a real treat for the daring: once you get to the top and catch your breath, fly back down as fast as you can. CAREFUL ON THE BRIDGES!

Start at the Hurricane Ridge Visitor's Center in town. On the west end of the parking lot you'll see a couple of trails. Take either one, they'll both bring you to the sign pointing you upwards, 2.7 miles. Enjoy a few steep dips down along the ever ascending trail, all singletrack.

There are many steps to climb and descend, as well as creek crossings over narrow and sometimes slick log bridges. You'll be surrounded by dense mossy forest, only sometimes within earshot of nearby Heart O' Hills Rd that goes up to the Ridge. The last half mile is a tough slog!

Mountain beavers! I also saw a blue heron at the creek.
