Runner Notes

Links with the Ross Creek trail system, and can be part of any number of outstanding trail run possibilities. Good footing on a shingled surface.

Description

Beginning at the upper end of Woodhaugh Gardens, the Upper Leith Walkway follows the banks of the Leith River across Malvern Street and the historic Woodhaugh Hotel into a narrow greenbelt along the river. The shingled path crosses the river via a pedestrian bridge and passes an abandoned quarry site before ducking back down into the forest near the confluence of Ross Creek and the Leith River. Another pedestrian bridge leads to the signed junction with the Ross Creek Trail before the path ends at Rockside Road.
