Description

This route is slightly less steep than the other direction, and you'll be glad to have some energy left in your legs. From Cameron Pass, head to Dose Meadows and take some time to explore the area. nearby Sentinel Peak is close by, and makes for a great day hike. The region near Sentinel Peak is known as the Thousand Acre Wilderness, and is rarely seen by the masses who frequent the park. Remote, steep and extreme, snow can linger in the Cameron Pass/Thousand Acre wilderness regions late into the summer. Before heading back to Gray Wolf Pass and descending down the Gray Wolf River, take in the views from the passes and explore the ridges of the region.
