Need to Know
There isn't a fee to hike the trails in the Hay Reservation, but donations are appreciated.
Runner Notes
Watch out for irresponsible dog-owners, when rounding the blind corners.
Description
From Chalk Pond Road, the trail follows an old road that switchbacks up to Sunset Hill. At the summit of Sunset Hill, there is a short spur to the view. From the top of the hill, the trail descends to the right. It passes by the Old Hastings Place Cellarhole (on the right), just before reaching
Old County Road. It turns right (onto
Old County Road), then almost immediately turns left. It continues its descent down to
Route 10, where it ends.
According to the Society For The Protection of New Hampshire Forests map, there is parking listed here, but the only parking is along the side of the road.
