This trail is for winter use only when snow covered.
Need to Know
This is a narrow, and steep in places, hiker and snowshoer only trail. Depending on snow and ice conditions, you may need snowshoes or snowshoes with built-in traction or just traction devices to traverse it without undue risk of slips or falls.
Description
This is a winter-only trail that starts east of the big Nature Center parking lot, just past the vault toilets. There will be signs here directing you on to this snowshoer and hiker only trail and away from the groomed and tracked skier-only trail.
The Woodland Trail is marked with small blue arrows as it weaves through the forest and climbs in and out of gullies. About 0.8 miles from the trailhead, it comes alongside the
Pioneer Trail (which is skier-only in winter), then makes a sharp turn to the north and continues northeast to end at a junction with the
Falls Snowshoe Trail.
