Despite the fact that this trail is so narrow, mountain biking is still permitted. Please watch out for mountain bikers.
Description
This section starts at Forest Road 90, at Holly Creek Gap, and travels northward. The trail enters the Cohutta Wildlife Management Area and winds its way to
Bear Creek Trail. The trail turns left and follows along with
Bear Creek Trail. Eventually, the trail turns off
Bear Creek Trail and it travels independently. After winding through the hills, the trail descends down to
Mountaintown Creek Trail and it turns left. The trail continues up to Forest Road 64, at Buddy Cove Gap. Here, at Buddy Cove Gap, is the highest point on the
Pinhoti Trail.
Flora & Fauna
Flora: Rhododendron, Partridgeberry, Nodding Trillium, Wild Geranium, Common Violet, Poplar, Earthstar, White Pine.
Fauna: Giant Millipedes, Common Water Snake, Whitelip Snail, Eastern Newt, Mining Bee, Crayfish.
