Description
Start up on the singletrack path until you reach a fork to Rainbow Falls. Recommend the very short detour down to the right to get a cool mist and picture of the falls. Then head back up the short out and back and continue uphill on the singletrack trail. About half a mile up, you'll see a maintenance building and make a sharp left in front of the building. Just past the building you'll continue uphill for a short climb on fire road to another trailhead with signs.
If you do not want to know there are grizzly bears in the area, continue straight past the two informative signs about bears back onto the singletrack and continue your climb. The gravel trail gives way to beautiful wooded singletrack that varies between gentle climbs and flat sections. At about four miles in the trees will thin and you'll just have a short way up to the lake. No swimming, this is a water source for Whistler! But lots of benches to enjoy the view before you head back down the way you came.
