Need to Know

The town of Penasco is about 15 minutes away and Sugar Nymphs Bistro is the place to go for a meal or a drink and desert.

Description

There are two parking areas for the trail. If you choose the first parking area the trail is to the right of the road gate. The trail is also used for cross country skiing in the winter, so follow the blue diamonds. About a third of the way along the trail there are some spots to overlook a canyon and mountains in the distance.

It looks like the Forest Service has marked trees for removal to make a more formal path to the overlook spot. This short loop connects with other trails if you want a longer run. The trails are also used by mountain bikers and horseback riding.

Flora & Fauna

Variety of conifer trees, some long grasses, and penstemon flowers.
