Need to Know

There are specific days of the week (currently Friday through Monday from 1-5) where you can take a free guided tour of the Stone House. It would be a nice run to the house, take the tour, eat a snack at the picnic tables, use the outhouse and then run back.

Runner Notes

Even though it had been very dry for almost a month and all the other trails were dry, this trail was damp and slippery in place both on the lake side and ridge side.

Description

We entered in from the trailhead opposite the Stone House. There are two options about 100 yards onto the trail. You can either take the option that leads you along the lake or ascend up onto the ridge section of the trail. We chose to take the lake side trail to the house and then return up on the ridge. Either way, it is an enjoyable trail. The ridge trail has some steep ascents and descents as well as some narrow portions next to a steep drop off. This is what earns it an intermediate level rating.

Flora & Fauna

There is ample opportunity to see the flora and fauna of Ohio as well as a seldom used dock near the Stone House that would be good to fish from.
