Description

Branching off the Railroad Access Road Trail, the Horse Fly Alley Trail follows the remnants of an old access road uphill away from the Patapsco. This creates a wide and visible trail, but it is not as even and smooth as most access road trails. Being situated on a slope, the trail has channeled drainage water down the hill for some time and is heavily eroded.

Runers can expect loose rock and gravel throughout the path and uneven footing at times, especially in small fissures that have opened up running down the path. The overall climb is minimal until the trail splits off to the south to connect with Trey's Lane, and it is still a much easier path than its nearby alternative, the Wall Trail.
