This trail begins at the end of the Old Tom Thumb RR Bed, picking up on the other side of the railroad crossing. This trail follows an access road, providing an easy and safe path running parallel to this section of railroad and the Patapsco River.

The path is mostly gravel and dirt with few, if any, obstacles along the way. As it follows the river, it connects with numerous trails running up and down the ridge, allowing runners an easier access to these trails, particularly the HoCo Thru Trail, which connects the Daniels area with Woodstock.
