Good, even trail.

From the Confluencia Campground, you drop down to the river and then continue on with a slow continuous climb for the next 11 miles. Along the way, the walls of the canyon grow. There is no soul-crushing hill but a 3000' elevation gain over all those miles. This is the last stop from where all the summiting groups take off. Enjoy the glacier and excitement in the air. Also, there are lots of mules.
