Need to Know

Restrooms at the gorge are open seasonally and may be closed during the winter through the late spring months.

Description

Leading from the woods this trail widens out at the edge of the forest and ultimately opens into wide fields full of birds and skirting two ponds where the spring peepers sing their songs. Just past the first pond, you'll have a wide open view of the spillway and the fossil collection point (must have permit first). Heading back to the woods, you rejoin the old paved pathway and the loop.

Flora & Fauna

Bluebirds, downy woodpeckers, red wing blackbirds, turtles, and field mice.
