Description

The Red Jacket Trail is a multi-use recreational trail for hiking, walking, running and biking. It winds through some very scenic, wooded areas south of Mankato and is a local favorite.

At Hawthorne Road, the Red Jacket Trail briefly shares the route with the South Route Trail.

Where the Red Jacket Trail meets up with County Road 1 near Red Jacket Valley Park, there is a small park called Red Jacket Trail Park. Here, there is a picnic shelter, primitive restrooms, parking, drinking water, fire rings and grills and a boat launch into the Le Sueur River. This is a great place to rest along the route or to even start the trail at.
