Runner Notes

Good mix of hills and flat areas. The terrain is not too difficult, except when snow is present.

Description

Located on BLM managed land. Park at trailhead off White Lake Parkway at 39.66157, -119.95960. There's an old copper mine located near trailhead and some ore still visible.

The trail goes to the highest point, Granite Peak, where there are views in all directions. In early 2018, virtually nothing growing in the burned section between the two peaks. It looked like a moonscape except for the snow and a few burned sagebrush stalks poking up. Therefore, this section of the trail is less visible. I saw no one on the trail.

Flora & Fauna

Sagebrush, chuckar, and rare pronghorn.
