Description
The run begins with a mild but steady climb up Wheeler Canyon on a wide dirt road. A little more than 1 mile up, the trail branches off to the right (there is a wooden sign). Turn right at the sign to go through Icebox Canyon, up to the Art Nord Trail, and over 6 bridges. Icebox has a couple of places that are steep, but they are short. I did it in snow wearing Nike running shoes and made it up after slipping a couple of times... I'm sure it's fine when it's dry though! Keep on truckin' until you see Snowbasin off in the distance. That's how you'll know that the Art Nord turnoff is close.
The Art Nord Trail is easy to miss! Keep an eye out for it on the left side when Snowbasin appears (about 2 miles in). This fork is also marked with a wooden sign. Hang a left and start heading East. The trail really opens up here. Continue through the meadow until you reach bridge #6 (about 3 miles in). Here you can either head up to the parking lot for a potty break or turn left and head down Wheeler Canyon. It's all downhill from here until you reach the parking lot!
