Construction on the Stephen D. Hogan Memorial Parkway is underway in this area for the next few months.

Need to Know

Since Coal Creek Arena is also an actual rodeo arena, you may think you are in the wrong place. However, do not be fooled. Simply walk up to the fence and find the opening. You should see the universal sign for a trail and a bunch of others crossed off. Proceed through the opening, head past the arena, and you'll soon find the trailhead.

Description

This is technically an extension of the Sand Creek Regional Greenway, but deserves its own designation as well. While the surrounding area is currently under construction, once completed, it will be a wonderful route with a cottonwood riparian zone to the east and an open prairie grassland to the west. Even with the construction, the wildlife is plentiful and the views are delightful.

Flora & Fauna

Red-tailed hawks, other birds of prey, corvids, mule deer, prairie dogs, & coyote.
