Need to Know

Getting to the parking lot: Get on SR410, then look for USFS 7030. There are a bunch of spurs, but just keep on the main road. At point there is a hairpin and you need to keep left. I would advise looking at a map before you head out. Also I think it's on the Northwest Forest Pass, but there was nothing on the board to indicate that.

Description

From the parking lot follow the dirt path. After a little bit there will be a sign that says “trail.” That is indeed the trail.

Start heading up. It gets steep in some spots, but overall not too bad. The dirt is a little loose in sports. After the switchbacks, the trail becomes more gradual and a little less exposed. Continue and you'll see the lookout with almost 360 degree views. Now look behind you and enjoy.

The lookout was open when I was there, no one in uniform either.

The trail continues north descending all the way to the river.

Flora & Fauna

There are huckleberries along the side of the trail.
