Description

The trail starts from a BLM fence, with a green gate. It follows an old road climb at the beginning and then drops to the mouth of the canyon after one mile. The trail in the canyon is wide with a gentle incline, and it is shaded by scrub oak, making it a pleasant run even in hot weather.

As you proceed, you'll pass some old stock tanks and an abandoned trailer, until you reach a small meadow at around mile two; from here the old road ends, and the trail narrows. You eventually reach an old stock pond and the end of the canyon at around three miles in. At this point, the run becomes even more difficult; a little trail proceeds on and begins a steep climb up to the ridge. The trail has a few switchbacks up the hill until eventually you go through some big Juniper trees where the trail ends on the ridge at a no trespassing sign and an awesome view.

Flora & Fauna

Skunks, mule deer, maybe a rattlesnake and, not likely but possibly, a mountain lion.
