Overview

See the 1/2 mile wide Ubehebe Crater, and utterly wear yourself out in the process!

Need to Know

Bring plenty of water.

Description

This trail, while being flat and not that long, will absolutely wear you out. Combine the wind, heat, and cinder/sand mix on the trail and you'll be happy to have seen it, and happy to make it back to your car. This trail winds around on the rim of the crater, and at the halfway point you can take side trails to see the other major crater, Hebe, or if you are really feeling your oats, take the crater floor trail and feel the burn all 375 vertical feet back up to the top! The views along the rim leave you awestruck and the evidence of the power that litters the ground all around you serves to remind you of just how small we are on this planet!

Flora & Fauna

At night you'll see small critters, snakes etc.

Not sure who thought the trail was "flat" but it's definitely a cool place to check out.
