This trail is for winter use only when snow covered.

Need to Know

This portion of the (Corridor #19A) railroad tracks is active during the summer months. Use caution in the winter, as this is primarily a snowmobile trail. The portions of this trail that fall within the Audubon Dahl Sanctuary are open year-round. Access to the campground may be restricted during the summer.

Description

This trail is primarily a snowmobile trail, but foot traffic is also permitted. This trail branches off of Corridor #19A (railroad tracks) just north of the Saco River trestle bridge. The trail travels for a short distance, then descends slightly to an open field. It heads straight through the field, following a series of wooden posts (during winter).

It re-enters the woods on the opposite side of the field and merges with the Oxbow Trail. It coincides with the Oxbow Trail, turns left onto the Field Trail, then ascends a road on the Silver Maple Trail. At the small Audubon Dahl parking area, the trail turns right onto the Pine Trail. It coincides with the Pine Trail to Route 16. Here, the Audubon Trail leaves the Audubon Dahl Sanctuary.

After crossing Route 16, the trail turns left and then right. The trail ends near Eagle's Way. Here, you can take a left onto Pine Hill Loop or right onto the Conway Recreational Path.
