Description

The Bluff Trail starts in the forest and is a dirt trail that heads towards the Owens Homestead site (burned down). A set of 338 hand-laid stone steps lead down towards Lake Taneycomo. Be careful as these as quite steep coming back up!

These steps were laid in August 1936 to August 1938 by Mr. Owen and his brothers, and you'll find inscribed on a step near the bottom: "Let those who tread here not forget, that these steps were not made of stone and mortar alone, but of sweat, blood, and agony."
