“A fun trail with killer views that forms part of the Jack-Ash project.”
— Norm Young
This is a multi-use trail. Be alert for traffic in both directions.
The bottom of the trail starts at the currently unfinished parking lot on Highway 238 (there is also a parking area at the top that is accessed from Sterling Creek Road). If parking off of Highway 238, be extremely careful when crossing the highway until the formal parking lot is completed on the trail-side of the road.
If you're climbing from the bottom, pick a cool day, as there's a fair amount of sun exposure (which is very nice in fall/winter/spring) as you climb out to the top. Once on the ridge, it's an easy and very scenic run to the end of the trail and parking area. You'll have your pick of the views and they are all good as there are sections with some fairly steep exposure!
This is a fun one in either direction, just make sure to fill out the register, so the BLM knows all the love this new excellent trail is getting!
