From the fork at Cachoeira do Trovão, follow this trail to the the left (the road to the right leads to the former Fazenda Gandarela). From this point, the road will become narrower, evidence that it is no longer being used by vehicles. There will be a strong descent before reaching the valley with some twists and turns along the way. When you reach the valley, cross a small creek and go left. Later on you'll hear a noise of water because there is a small waterfall to your left in the woods. A few meters ahead, you'll find the same stream again.

To get to the waterfall, runners will have to enter the stream and follow it for about 500 meters. Just be careful on the slippery rocks, and with any snakes or spiders in the dense forest. A few minutes later, you'll end at the leave in front of the Trovão waterfall.
